Sierra Discovery Trail Herb Walk 6/13/26

Overview

Walk with Heather Luna along the Bear River. Meet a diversity of plants from an open meadow to the forest edge. This short trail meanders through a diverse ecosystem just outside of Bear Valley. We will discuss wild plants for food and medicine. Participants will learn plant identification, medical applications, ethical and sustainable harvesting practices. Heather is a well seasoned herbalist, forager, wildcrafter, naturalist, and all around botanical wise woman. No experience necessary! Open to the community. Be sure to check the weather and dress accordingly. * * * * * * * When: Saturday, June 13, 2026 from 10:00 am - 1:00 pm PST Where: Sierra Discovery Trail, about 23 miles outside of Nevada City, CA. Cost: $40; ACORN Students get a discount, please contact the school for details. Amenities: There is a bathroom near the Trailhead. The trail is paved, mostly flat and considered easy.
