Overview
Buttermilk Bend Trail at South Fork Yuba River/Bridgeport Join Heather Luna for one of the most stunning wildflower walks in the county as we meander an easy walking trail along the Yuba River to meet medicinal and edible plants of the Sierra Foothills. Participants will learn plant identification, medical applications, and ethical harvesting practices to sustain both human and ecological health. This walk highlights the abundance of peak season Spring botanicals, many of which are only on display for a short window. This herb walk is an annual favorite herbal adventure! Heather is a well seasoned herbalist, forager, wildcrafter, naturalist, and all around botanical wise woman. No experience necessary! Open to the community. Be sure to check the weather and dress accordingly. * * * * * * * When: Saturday, March 21, 2026 from 10:00 am - 1:00 pm PST Where: Buttermilk Bend Trail, located in the South Yuba River State Park, 14 miles from Nevada City, CA. Cost: $35; ACORN Students get a discount, please contact the school for details. There is a separate parking fee paid at the location. Amenities: There is a bathroom.
