Neutralizing Cordial

Neutralizing Cordial

Neutralizing Cordial - 1 oz dropper bottle

PRODUCT OVERVIEW

This is a traditional formula from The Physiomedical Dispensatory, written by Dr. William Cook, MD in 1869. This particular remedy is based on an old German formula that was brought to America by Dr. W. Beach. It has an excellent reputation for its effectiveness against flatulence (gas), diarrhea, dysentery, sour stomach, and griping intestinal pain. It was safely used by both children and adults. After experimenting in her herbal pharmacy, Heather used the instructions as written by Dr. Cook, and was able to bring this long forgotten remedy back for modern use.

SUGGESTED USE

Nausea, upset stomach, bloating, gas, constipation or diarrhea, depending on dose. Larger doses are laxative. Use lower doses for diarrhea.

INGREDIENTS

  • Peppermint leaf (Mentha piperita)
  • Turkey Rhubarb (Rhuem palmatum)
  • Goldenseal (Hydrastis canadensis)
  • Cinnamon bark (Cinnamomum cassia)
  • Potassium bicarbonate
  • Brandy (alcohol)
  • Organic sugar

Peppermint is a known stomach remedy that helps support digestion (carminative), relieves nausea, dispels gas, and has a mild antispasmodic effect which helps alleviate intestinal cramping.

Turkey Rhubarb is in the same family as Yellow dock (Rumex crispus) and has a similar yellow colored root. It soothes an upset stomach, promotes digestion, encourages peristalsis, stimulates bile production, and is a gentle laxative.

Goldenseal is an astringent and anti-inflammatory that tightens the tissues of the digestive and intestinal tracts. It is a cholagogue that stimulates bile secretion and liver function, which helps alleviate constipation. It helps improve wound healing and can be used for colitis and ulcerations of the intestinal tract.

Cinnamon is warming to the digestive tract, alleviates nausea, indigestion, flatulence, diarrhea, dysentery and abdominal cramping.

Potassium Bicarbonate is a mild alkalinizer that is used to reduce acidity in the stomach.
